Today, Chemist is a name for quality and service. Chemist is one of the few pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh which has been manufacturing injectables since 1970. Now, with a range of hormones, steroids, anaesthetic intra-articular, and antibiotic injectables, Chemist maintains its strong growth and stability over the long term.

The Chemist plant is established in Barishal, a beautiful city known for its numerous canals. Barishal is often referred to as the Venice of Bangladesh. It’s located approximately 240 km away from the capital, Dhaka, and is very close to the Bay of Bengal. The company’s production quality and management have contributed to its stability in the competitive market. In 2005, Chemist obtained ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification. It was subsequently upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 in 2011 and 2015 for its product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, marketing, sales, and distribution of human and veterinary pharmaceutical products. These certifications were provided by Orion Registrar, Inc., USA. Chemist also endorsed the UN Global Compact in 2004.

To produce quality human and veterinary medicine, the factory and quality control (Q.C.) departments are equipped with the most reliable, latest, and modern equipment from countries such as the USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Japan, South Korea, China, India, and Taiwan. The employees of this company are trained to ensure Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as prescribed by the WHO. Additionally, GMP standards as per the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) are also followed.
